About the Role
Our client’s maternity service provides both primary and secondary birthing care for approximately 1850 births a year.
As their Director of Midwifery you will be providing professional midwifery advice and setting the strategic direction for the provision of maternity services across the Wellington region’s Hutt Valley.
In this role you will be reporting to the Director of Nursing and will be working in partnership with clinical leaders and midwifery operational teams to support clinical and ensure operational equity, safety and efficiency for maternity services enabling the delivery of high quality outcomes for women, babies and whanau.
The role is permanent part time (0.4 FTE or 16 hours per week) however there is scope to increase hours with either special project work or clinical.

Skills and Experience
Registered Midwife, eligible for a current practising certificate with the New Zealand Midwifery Council
Postgraduate qualifications in Midwifery at Master’s level preferred
Experience at a senior level and recognition as a Midwifery Leader
Understanding of contemporary Midwifery professional trends and legislation
