Are you a Perioperative RN wanting to take a leadership step in your career?

Our client is looking for a perioperative RN with experience in Neurosurgery, or Urology, or ORL cases, to be responsible for the day to day operational management  of these theatres within the busy Operating Rooms in the largest Private Hospital based in Auckland.

You’ll report to the Charge Nurse Manager for Neuro/Uro/ORL and you’ll be the clinical expert and the operational go-to person for these specialties, and responsible for the day-to-day running of the specific operating rooms.  Your responsibilities will range from end-to-end clinical duties, people leadership, and operational duties including the resourcing of staff and equipment.

This role is ideal for someone seeking a balance between people management and utilising their perioperative expertise.

We’re looking for someone who has exceptional communication and relationship building skills along with the ability to think on their feet and make effective decisions. You’ll be adaptable and adept at building positive relationships with our Specialists and wider members of the Operating Rooms teams and being organised and well-prepared is second nature to you. You’re known for your professional maturity, positive attitude and being the go-to person for your team.

To be considered for this role you must have a valid APC, a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a perioperative setting, and strong OR experience in at least 2 of these specialties (adults or paeds): Neurology/Urology/ORL.  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience directing or supervising services and/or people.
