Job Description

Our client is part of one of the largest NGOs in NZ and they provide community-based mental health and wellbeing services through the country. The Registered Nurse Acute Alternative Services is a 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) permanent role.

You will be working across their acute respite facilities. At present they have three 4 bedroom facilities across central and north Wellington however they are transitioning to two new purpose-built 6 bedroom facilities next year. The clients using these facilities will either be experiencing some distress or illness and we are able to provide a peaceful retreat in the hope of preventing readmission, or they will be transitioning out of an acute care environment back into the community. The RN Acute Alternative Services will provide risk management, oversee liaison with the DHB teams and appropriate referrals, while ensuring smooth transitions for clients. They will also be responsible for making sure support plans are up to date.


Requirements for this independent role include:

• NZ registration and a current APC
• A minimum of three years post graduate experience in mental health
• A full drivers license
• Great communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
