Work for the largest Forensic Mental Health Service in New Zealand which serves four Northern District Health Boards including all courts in the northern region and five prisons.
The team delivers a comprehensive range of Forensic Mental Health Services, including secure inpatient acute and rehabilitation services which connect to community rehabilitation services, services for offenders with an intellectual disability, culture specific programmes for Maori, court liaison and prison mental health services. This includes a regional service to Northland Region Corrections Facility at Ngawha and Northland.
Their inpatient services consist of seven forensic mental health inpatient units and an intellectual disability unit that assess, treat and assist in the recovery of people with mental illness or intellectual disability who have committed a criminal offence or are at high risk in the community.
They are looking to recruit an experienced Registered Nurse. You will be working in the Forensic Intellectual Disability Unit and previous experience within this field is required.
In this role, you will ensure nursing care of the highest quality in accordance with the Nursing Council of New Zealand scope of practice (Registered Nurse) and the DHB Professional Development and Recognition Portfolio.
Registered Nurse with the NZ Nursing Council
Previous experience working with forensic learning disability clients is preferred
