Job Description

Our client is a private hospital based in the heart of Hamilton. They are proud to serve the people of the greater Waikato region and beyond. The hospital has state of the art technology and facilities, and is dedicated to providing the highest quality care with more than 100 specialists. They have nine operating theatres, two endoscopy suites, five bed HDU/ICU and 85 surgical beds.

The newly opened purpose-built Medical Services Building provides a beautiful space for our Day Oncology / Haematology Patients.

We are looking for experienced Registered Nurses with that special passion and empathy necessary to care forĀ  patients and families with a cancer diagnosis. They pride themselves on our 5-star treatment of patients and their families. The week day service provides a flexible and enjoyable working environment.

This varied role comprises of caring for patients and their families in an outpatient setting, administration and management of intravenous and oral chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted treatments. Cytotoxic competency is desirable however not essential as this can be supported through our online training packages and support from the small but senior oncology team.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Eligible or currently with New Zealand nursing registration (current APC)
  • Minimum 2 years post graduate experience.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion for Oncology and Haematology
  • Enthusiasm to learn new skills
  • Current practical skills including advanced clinical assessment skills
  • Computer literacy
