Job Description

Our client is part of one of the largest NGOs in NZ and they provide community-based mental health and wellbeing services through the country. Established in 1989 they introduced a new model of care to the mental health sector with their inspirational dream of ‘transforming mental health and addictions through fostering strong, compassionate, self-supporting communities’ and their belief that with the right support, everyone can recover. Their goal is total wellbeing and achieving this through hope and respect and personalised support that changes as people’s needs change. When you speak to members of the team, they are clearly proud of their organisations vision and its achievements.

The Registered Nurse-Team Coach is a full time permanent role based at their respite facility in the Porirua Basin.

At present they have three 4 bedroom houses across central and north Wellington however they are transitioning to two new purpose-built 6 bedroom facilities next year. The clients using these facilities will either be experiencing some distress or illness and our client is able to provide a peaceful retreat in the hope of preventing readmission, or they will be transitioning out of an acute care environment back into the community.

The Team Coach will support a group of 8 dedicated Support Workers and will manage the safety and well-being of the house. We’re seeking a motivating and empowering person who leads by example as they mentor their team to provide a quality service for their clients.

There is some flexibility around your hours however you will be required to do a very occasional on-call rota.
