The hospital is an innovative and exciting state of the art private surgical hospital in the centre of Christchurch.

An opportunity has become available to lead the Gynae, Urology, General and Endoscopy theatre team.

the team work together to provide quality care to patients for day and short stay services. They specialise in orthopaedic, gynaecology, ORL, urology, maxillo-facial, plastics and general elective surgical procedures.

There are four operating theatres, a spacious 12 bed recovery unit, two day-stay lounges and a 22 bed ward to accommodate overnight patients.

You will be responsible for providing safe clinical practice and supervision of your clinical theatre team.  Reporting to the Theatre Services Manager, you will ensure the specialties are well supported and operate in a seamless manner. You will be working alongside your team providing expert clinical skills in the operating room. You will ensure all appropriate equipment is available to our team of medical specialists.

As well as supporting the nursing team with knowledge and the skills necessary to provide an outstanding, high quality, efficient service ensuring that all patients have a positive experience, you will need to have a flexible approach and be able to adapt to change. As an experienced Registered Nurse you will be responsible for supporting and developing your specialty team.

Essential requirements

  • Comprehensive experience in Gynae, Urology, General and Endoscopy surgery theatres
  • Experience in a team leader role or evidence of managing a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Proven organisational skills
