Start date deadline for jobs offered to Essential Health Workers from overseas is extended

We’re really happy to advise that Immigration NZ has announced an extension of the start date deadline for jobs offered to ‘Essential Health Workers’ from overseas.  The date has been extended from December 31, 2020 to March 31, 2021.

We are already working with overseas health professionals who this will positively impact and have been delighted to let them know.  Please see https://www.immigration.govt.nz/about-us/covid-19/border-closures-and-exceptions/critical-purpose-reasons-you-can-travel-to-new-zealand for more information and definitions around who is eligible to apply for a border exception and critical purposes visa.

Also feel free to contact us at Tonix for information on job availability.  At present the main areas of need we are seeing in NZ, continue to be primarily within mental health, midwifery and perioperative (including ODPs), but we are hopeful this may widen in the first quarter of 2021.
